Graduate Health & Safety Officer

We are delighted to invite applicants to apply for the position of Graduate Health & Safety Officer, based in our office in Mullingar, with regular travel to our sites in Ireland, the UK and Europe. This will provide the candidate with exposure to multiple locations to gain an in depth understanding of our business and develop their career in Health & Safety. The successful candidate will report to the Group Risk Manager and develop a close working relationship with the individual site H&S Mangers.You will get exposure to, and have responsibility for; Progressing our health & safety management systems.Develop, design and implement health & safety improvement projects.Driving and communication of safety initiative programmes.Carry out accident, incident and near miss investigations as required.Assist in conducting risk assessments, implementing recommendations, and maintaining H&S documentation.Implement effective risk reduction programs across all sites.Contribute to the development and testing of standardised emergency response plans and procedures across all sites.Promote a strong safety culture within the organization by engaging with employees and contractors and fostering a proactive safety mindset. The ideal candidates should possess;A relevant third level qualification in Health & Safety or another relevant field.A team player with a positive attitude.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.Proactive and self-motivated.Good IT skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).A clean driving licence will be required.Willingness to travel frequently.
