General Practice Nurse - Blackrock, Dublin

General Practice Nurse with an interest in Dermatology About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a General Practice Nurse with an interest in Dermatology to join our growing team at Blackrock Medical. The role is a blended position combining both General Practice Nursing and Dermatology Nursing, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to develop specialist skills while continuing to work within a busy and varied GP setting.Initially, the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time providing traditional General Practice nursing services, including health promotion, chronic disease management, screening, vaccinations, wound care, and patient education. Depending on experience and training requirements, this is likely to involve 2-4 days per week within General Practice, while gradually developing their dermatology knowledge and clinical skills through training and hands-on experience.Alongside their General Practice responsibilities, the nurse will work closely with a GP who leads a dedicated dermatology clinic, supporting the assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of patients with a wide range of skin conditions and dermatological concerns. As confidence, skills, and service demands develop, the successful candidate will become increasingly involved in the dermatology aspect of the role.Over time, we anticipate the position evolving into a more balanced blend of General Practice and Dermatology nursing, with the potential for the role to be approximately shared across both areas. However, this will not be fixed, and the successful candidate should be comfortable working flexibly across both services depending on patient needs, clinic requirements, and business demands. The role will also provide exposure to aesthetic procedures and treatments, making it an excellent opportunity for a nurse seeking to broaden their expertise in skin health, dermatology, and aesthetics within a supportive and progressive healthcare environment. We are seeking a nurse who is adaptable, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about developing specialist skills while maintaining a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and the flexibility to work across both General Practice and Dermatology settings as required.Specific Job Details:Location: Blackrock Medical, Frascati Shopping Centre, Blackrock, Co Dublin A94 H6V9Link: https://www.centrichealth.ie/locations/blackrock-medical/Contract: Permanent Part-Time Working Hours: 3-4 days per week to be agreed (2 days General Practice / 2 Days Dermatology)Salary Range: €26 - €28 depending on experiencePosition Requirements:Must be a Registered General Nurse with the NMBIExperienced in PhlebotomyExcellent interpersonal, communication, and telephone skillsComputer literateExcellent organisational skillsExcellent written and spoken EnglishFlexible attitude to changing work practicesMust have 2 years post-graduation experience in a hospital setting. Roles & Responsibilities:ImmunisationAdministering Infant, childhood, flu, and other vaccinations  Travel MedicineAdministering travel vaccinationsTravel Advice Chronic Disease ManagementCholesterol testing & dietary adviceBlood pressure monitoringNursing management of chronic respiratory disease & diabetes Female HealthCervical ScreeningFamily Planning Sexual HealthOpportunistic STI screeningSexual Health advice Skin/Wound CareTreatment of venous leg ulcers and other skin injuriesAssessment and treatment of skin lacerationsNursing management of skin conditions – eczema, psoriasisGeneral Nursing DutiesHealth promotion and educationTelephone triage and advicePhlebotomyEar IrrigationAdministering prescribed long-term medications/injections Key Skills - What we look for in our employees:Patient FocusThe ability to remain calm, professional, and polite in dealing with our patients and colleagues Personal IntegrityBe professional in your approach to your workBe honest and reliableBe trustworthy and respectful TeamworkBuild and maintain good relationships with all colleaguesBe willing to take on jobs to balance the team workloadAim to communicate well with people at all levels Develop yourself and othersBe motivated to learn and developSupport, encourage, and motivate othersCoach, guide, and give constructive feedback to others Centric Health is an equal-opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.#IJ1
