Job TitleFinancial Accountant - Core FinanceSalary€73,961 pa (Other arrangements may apply if coming directly from another civil or public service body)Tenure5-year fixed term contractWork LocationDublinClosing DateMidnight, Monday 28th April 2025Role ProfileWe have an exciting opportunity in the Core Finance Team within our Corporate Services Directorate.  The Corporate Services Directorate is responsible for the overall governance of the Authority and includes Finance, Inspections, Governance and Procurement, Legal, Marketing and Communications, HR & OD and ICT.  Within this Corporate Services Directorate, the Core Finance Team is responsible for managing sales and debtors, the annual budgeting process, internal monthly reporting, forecasting and preparation of year end statutory accounts. The Core Finance Team are also responsible for overseeing all payments to ensure that they are paid appropriately and in accordance with strong governance and internal controls. The Financial Accountant will be required to work closely with all members of the Finance team and reports to the Financial Controller or his/her nominee. This position will play a key role in the Finance Department.  The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI’s goals.  Essential RequirementsThe successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:A degree (a Level 7 on NFQ or greater) in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline. Fully qualified accountant with membership of a prescribed accountancy body (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA). A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience. Experience working as part of a core finance function.Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.Experience working with ERP or accounting packages. Excellent IT skills and experience working with broad Office 365 package.Proven attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Desirable RequirementsPrevious experience of Integra / Centros Financial System.Previous experience working in a public body or a knowledge of public sector accounting with strong understanding of the principals of governance. Interest in or knowledge of the sustainable energy sector in Ireland.Eligibility to WorkThe SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland.
