These roles will involve working in The Count Me In, Day Service supporting young autistic people in self-development, within the following areas, social inclusion, social capacity, education, employment and other aspects of their lives. The successful applicant will be responsible for: Ensuring a person-centred approach to meet the needs of each participant individuallyDeveloping an Individual Plan for each participant Empowering each participant to achieve their identified goals in an integrated and inclusive settingPromote inclusion, equality and community participation. Developing relationships with participants, families, advocates and the wider communityProvide individual mentoring to participantsExperience and knowledge of autism informed approaches is desirableCandidate RequirementsGenuine commitment to supporting individuals in achieving positive opportunities and meaningful change in their lives An ability to develop meaningful community linksA balanced approach to riskAn ability to develop meaningful community linksDrive, enthusiasm, and passion for delivering person centred solutions To be a good communicator with good observational and organisational skillsExperience in leadership or supervisory responsibilitiesExperience supporting service development or quality improvement initiativesKnowledge and understanding of the requirements of New Directions and Person-Centred PlanningFlexibility to support people to achieve their goals during evenings if required Competent IT skillsQualification Details Social Care Worker applicants must meet the following criteria:Have Coru Registration to practice as a Social Care Worker ORHold a qualification recognised by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU (as listed on the CORU website: www.coru.ie). Eligible qualifications must fall under one of the following categories: o  Approved Qualifications o  Schedule 3 Qualifications o  Sufficiently Relevant QualificationsANDProvide confirmation of an ongoing application for registration with CORU.Other Duties Involved (Duties include, but are not limited to, the following)Contribute to and actively participate in the local service planning process, supporting the creative development and responding to the ongoing and changing needs of the service.Provide personal care and practical support to individuals as required.Ensure a safe and respectful workplace, adhering to the organisation’s Dignity at Work Policy and all Health & Safety requirements.Promote safety in all environments in line with the Association’s practices and guidelines.Use positive and proactive approaches to support individuals who may present challenging behaviours, consistent with organisational policies and best practice.Other RequirementsFull driver’s license is essential.All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting and Reference checks.Applicants from countries outside the E.U. must provide relevant work authorization to take up employment in the Republic of Ireland.
