The Technical department encompasses a number of SEAI business areas including Technical Standards and Quality, High Performance Building Retrofits, EPBD Concerted Action, BER Calculation Methodology, BER Software & systems and BER Operations. Under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, Member States are required to provide Building Renovation Passports to building owners to provide a clear roadmap for staged deep renovations, helping owners and investors plan the best timing and scope for interventions. The successful candidate will report to the Programme Manager of the Software and Systems team and will lead on the development of Building Renovation Passports and support the team on the development of BER programme IT systems enabling the delivery of BER Certificates and Advisory Reports, Building Digital Logbooks and Buildings databases.Essential RequirementsThe successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:A degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 7 or greater) in a relevant technical or operational discipline such as Architecture, Mechanical or Civil engineering, Building Services, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, or other fields relevant to building energy modelling and methodologies. A minimum of four years’ work experience in building performance assessment or modelling or in sustainability / energy consultancy, or in project management in a related field. Post graduate studies may be included.Knowledge or experience of building energy performance methodologies, including a working knowledge of DEAP and NEAP.Experience in software development and quality control, stakeholder management and user acceptance testing. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and managing projects involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Desirable Requirements BER assessor certified A good understanding of building energy systems.PMP certified.Eligibility to WorkThe SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland.
