The RoleTo learn skills and gain experience towards becoming a Maintenance Engineer within Food Manufacturing. Our kitchens in Thirsk, Kinmel and Crick produce dry, wet, and baked foods which are enjoyed by dogs and cats all over the world.Key Responsibilities:Ensure completion of relevant qualification of level 3 NVQ and attend college weekly at our nominated training provider.Work with the maintenance team to Perform planned and predictive maintenance of equipment and complete ad hoc repairs in a timely manner and by prioritising works in line with site priorities to ensure that efficient production is maintained Work with the maintenance team to assess the need for spares by ensuring that the critical spares and spares list is up to date and stock is at the required levels. Escalate any issues in a timely manner to the Engineering managerWork with the maintenance team to ensuring a safe environment by conducting all servicing and maintenance activities with minimal risk to employees, products and equipment. Champion safety Work with the maintenance team to start using route cause analysis on breakdowns to identify actions and drive completion of actions to prevent re-occurrenceWork with the maintenance team to support the energy reduction and sustainability agenda to reduce environmental impacts across the site by ensuring all actions are completedParticipate in daily and weekly review sessions to drive the improvement throughout the siteUndertake training and engaging with other members of the maintenance team to wider knowledge in all areas of maintenanceSkills, Experience and Qualifications:Engineering appreciationWillingness to learnMinimum of 4 GSCE’s, including Maths, English Language and Science (grade C / 4 and above).
