The purpose of this role is to develop best-practice strategies, provide governance, and implement the company’s environmental, health & safety program as well as the company’s sustainability program. AccountabilitiesEnvironmental Manager Purpose Lead all environmental compliance activities on site, manage the Environmental Management System (EMS), and oversee the site’s EPA license, WWTP operations, and sustainability improvements. Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Compliance & EPA InterfaceAct as site lead for all EPA license requirements, inspections, and communications.Manage all regulatory submissions, reporting, and permit renewals.Maintain full compliance and support continued strong performance off the EPA's National Priority List (NPL).Serve as point of contact for Irish Water and other environmental regulators.Environmental Management SystemMaintain and develop the site EMS in line with ISO 14001 requirements.Drive continuous improvement in environmental performance, ensuring alignment with BAT and license conditions.Prepare the site for ISO 14001 certification and maintain all supporting documentation and audits.WWTP & Operational OversightLead day-to-day management of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).Identify and implement process improvements and investment needs to ensure reliable, compliant operation.Coordinate environmental sampling and ensure monitoring aligns with license conditions.Leadership & ReportingManage 3–4 direct reports supporting environmental compliance and WWTP operations.Provide environmental training and awareness across site teams.Lead environmental input into capex planning, audits, and strategic projects.Ideal CandidateDegree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.Minimum 3 years’ experience managing environmental compliance in a regulated manufacturing environment.Proven track record interfacing with the EPA and managing IPPC/IE license conditions.Strong experience with EMS implementation and ISO 14001 frameworks.Hands-on knowledge of WWTP operation and monitoring.Excellent communication and regulatory reporting skills.Interested applicants should haveDegree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, Science, Engineering, or similar Experience with IPPC licensing requirements essential Manufacturing experience in food industry strongly preferred At least 2 years' people management experience Excellent communication and report writing skills Manual Handling Instructor & Risk Assessor certification would be beneficial.
