Effluent Plant Operative

You will be part of a fast paced, proactive team responsible for looking after the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  Working hours: Monday to Friday 6.30am 3pm including 1 x 30-minute break. 40 hours Reporting toReporting to: Engineering Manager BenefitsBenefits:Competitive Salary (On application)Free parking on siteDiscounted Gym membershipSubsidised staff canteen on site offering both hot meals and snacksPrayer Room on site TrainingMonday to Friday working The role involves:To ensure the site effluent treatment plant and associated equipment is operated to its maximum efficiency and within Wessex water consent levels, including MCerts responsibilities on discharge monitoringTo carry out regular cleaning of the effluent treatment plant, associated equipment and surrounding yard areas as detailed in SOP WWTP 2.10, including pre-start checksCarry out regular testing of effluent discharge water to ensure discharge limits are within consent levels as per SOP WWTP2.10 and WWTP operating Guide Ensure all external areas of responsibility are maintained to ABP standard to include cleaning of the bund and tanks, all yard area adjacent to the WWTPEnsure surface water monitoring points (SWMP) are checked dailyDrainage system is kept operational and unblock drains in the yardAssist yard team with site waste collection and recycling activates, unloading of deliveries when required (forklift training/license can be given)Carry out all the basic maintenance in the WWTP (training will be given) and assist the Engineering team with maintenance and repairs when possible Assist Environmental Manager to ensure environmental site compliance and ensure all environmental tasks for the plant are complied with.Take an active role in driving treatment plant improvements and sustainability projectsEscalate any issues to site engineering managerThis is not an exhaustive list of duties.Leadership PrinciplesYou have a relentless drive to succeedYou create a results-driven environmentYou live ‘Our Way’ResilienceEffective ExecutionCommunication and Influencing SkillsCustomer FocusedGreat TeammateSkillsSelf-motivated able to work using own initiative with minimum supervisionGood communication and interpersonal skills competent in dealing with internal and external customersAble to work in a professional manner responsive to the needs of the business embracing a can do will do attitude Able to produce quality work with an eye for detail Able to react fast and effectivelyGood level of written and oral English is needed Basic computer skills needed
