The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI’s Decarbonised Heat Programme.Key Responsibilities of the role of Programme Executive The responsibilities of the Programme Executive outlined in this job description are indicative of the currently envisaged scope and may be added to or altered as required, in line with the requirement of SEAI across Business Units/Department. They will include, but not limited to, the following:Contribute to the delivery of the Decarbonised Heat Programme including heating, cooling and district heating activitiesProvide analytical and technical support to the Decarbonised Heat Programme Manager Management of third party and technical experts.Initiating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholder organisations.Representing SEAI at meetings and events (including presentations and speaking engagements).Inputting to the on-going development of the programme strategy and works within the team and within the Research and Technology DepartmentPreparation of reports detailing outcome of policy relevant analysis.Keep up to date with research publications from the IEA TCP and other relevant national and international research organisations and communicate key topics arising to relevant stakeholders.To undertake any other duties /projects as may be assignedTo ensure that activity peaks within the Department are addressed in a proactive manner, it is expected that the candidate appointed to this role will need to be flexible in terms of working hours during these periods.Key Knowledge and SkillsThe knowledge and skills required include but are not limited to the following: Knowledge of wider energy system; ability to identify goals for Heat sector in the context of broader policy goals for the energy sector at EU and national level. Awareness of key challenges in the decarbonisation of the heat sector Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presenting, public speaking Analysis and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with Research & Technology team, third party experts and stakeholders Interpersonal skills, ability to build positive working relationships and to network effectivelyProject management/ organisation of concurrently running work and competing demands, flexibility to deliver short term and unplanned analyses Focus on setting and achieving goals Essential RequirementsThe successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:A good understanding of energy efficiency and low carbon technologies in industry, Residential and commercial sectorsDegree, PostGrad and/or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science or Economics A minimum 3 years’ experience working or equivalent in areas detailed above Excellent team-player skills, with experience of managing projects involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholdersStrong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presenting, public speaking Desirable RequirementsA good knowledge of Ireland’s decarbonised heat energy policy / energy sector landscapeDelivery of Heat Decarbonisation related projects and/or on Heat Decarbonisation related policy development.Experience of working in energy-related policy environment across the public sector, academia or industrySpecific expertise in analysis of decarbonising heat in industrial, residential and system wide perspectivesExperience of design, installation and or maintenance of heat supply technologies.Advanced MS Excel skillsEligibility to Work:  The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland.
