Job Title: District Heating Centre of Excellence - Programme ExecutiveSalary: €49,506 (other arrangements may apply if coming directly from another civil or public service body)Tenure:5-year fixed term contractWork Location:Dublin or alternative SEAI officeClosing Date:Midnight, Thursday 2nd May 2024Role Profile:We have an exciting opportunity in the District Heating Centre of Excellence in the Decarbonised Heat & System Support Department.The Decarbonised Heat & System Support Department is new to SEAI and will comprise of the transfer of existing functions plus the establishment of the new national District Heating Centre of Excellence. The existing functions comprise of the Decarbonised Heating and Cooling research function, the Single Point of Contact service for consenting in renewable energy projects and the SEAI Sustainable Energy Communities, Schools and RESS programmes.The District Heating Centre of Excellence is a national team, who are committed to delivery of programme areas, which include:Market Development - Promote district heating nationally providing leadership and representation for the sector leveraging experience of the Centre of Excellence to deliver informed insights, guidance, and data.District Heating Strategy - Support the development of district heating nationally ensuring strategic objectives and outcomes are achieved.District Heating Support Unit - Support development and deployment of District Heating schemes nationally providing guidance and expertise to the sector.The successful candidate will report to the Programme Manager of the District Heating Strategy Programme.Essential Requirements:The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:A degree (Level 7 on NFQ) or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science or Economics.A minimum 3 years’ experience working or equivalent in areas detailed above. Experience of managing projects involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presenting, public speaking.  Desirable Requirements:Postgraduate or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science or Economics.A good knowledge heat decarbonisation related policy development.Experience of working in energy-related policy environment across the public sector, academia or industry.Specific expertise in analysis of decarbonising heat in industrial, residential and system wide perspectives.Experience of design, installation and or maintenance of heat supply technologies. Advanced MS Excel skills.Eligibility to Work:The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland.
