Job Summary As the Deputy Global Safety Advisor, you support how INSO prepares for and manages safety and security risks across all Country Offices. You work closely with the Global Security Advisor and step in for him when needed. The role focuses on helping teams operate safely, stay prepared, and follow INSO’s Global Security Policy.You combine strategic oversight with practical field support. This includes advising Country Offices, improving tools and policies, and turning risk management best practices into clear, usable guidance for staff.Based at HQ in The Hague, you will travel frequently (around 50–60%) to support INSO platforms and ensure our safety and risk approach remains consistent and effective across the organisation.Key Responsibilities Provide in-person and remote technical guidance to Country Offices in developing Security Management Plans.Contribute to designing end-user-focused processes, guidelines, tools, and lead specific thematic policies.Maintain and curate the digital library of safety and security documentation to ensure smooth information flow across HQ and field.Deputise for the GSA in assigned areas and during absences, including support to Crisis Management and contingency planning.Implement and oversee the Internal Incidents Management system.Ensure COs maintain updated Security Risk Assessments, SOPs, and Contingency Plans in alignment with INSO’s Global Security Policy.Lead or contribute to compliance reviews of Security Management Plans.Support the development of security strategies tailored to each Country Office’s operational priorities.Promote a strong safety and security culture by engaging with staff across HQ and field platforms.Main Requirements At least 5 years’ experience in a safety and security role with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in and on insecure/post-conflict environments. Professional fluency in English and French. Willingness to travel to INSO country platforms; Excellent Microsoft Office suite knowledge. Familiarity with or willingness to learn the use of content, task and project management digital tools (Microsoft SharePoint, Lists, Asana etc.). In depth understanding of the humanitarian Security Risk Management. Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Social Studies, Psychology or related field. Additional years of professional experience can substitute for degree; Nice to HaveUnderstanding of the work and nature of NGOs. Relevant language skills- Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, etc. Previous experience working with INSO either as staff or as a beneficiary.
