Due to the Commercial Manager working between the London and Scotland offices, this Deputy position does require a self-starter and natural leader who can take accountability for their role and oversee the Commercial Department as a senior point of contact with the Dumfries office.For those with ambition, there will be opportunities to progress within the business, making this the ideal role in which to realise your professional goals. Fluency in Excel and confidence to communicate with clients and stakeholders of all levels is essential to success within this role. Understanding of pricing and price books would be very beneficial to the position-holder.The post is offered on a full-time, permanent basis upon completion of your 6-month probationary period. Hours of work are Monday to Friday (09:00-17:00), with a degree of flexibility where deadlines are required to be met.This position boasts a competitive salary with a holiday entitlement of 28 days, inclusive of bank holidays. Duties and Responsibilities:· Provide a high-level of support and assistance to the Commercial Manager and oversee the Bid Coordinator, Commercial Assistant and Commercial Apprentice· Senior full time point of contact for Scotland office.· Preparation and production of price books for tender, including in house and client spreadsheets· Utilising tailored software to create and track quotations for clients· Develop mobilisation plans for tenders and update post-award for Ops Management · Working with Commercial Manager to prepare price increases and track progress with updates to Ops Management and Finance· Support in preparing reports for Vigilant Board, Quarterly and Client meetings· Work closely with the Bid-Coordinator during tender processes, including support with pricing narrative and written submissions· Monitor, manage and update all associated systems and folders in a thorough and systematic manner· Ensure commercial documents and data are completed accurately within specified timeframes· Maintain and update the client database, identifying opportunities and highlighting to the Commercial Manager· About you:· A self-starter who can work on their own initiative independently and collaboratively as part of a team· A desire to add value to the business and commercial team with a hunger to develop into a more senior management role in the upcoming 12-24 months· Excellent numeracy skills and confidence in Microsoft Excel formulas; ideally in a commercial or finance department accessing price books and quotations· Strong communication skills with the ability to build honest relationships· Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure whilst maintain a positive working atmosphere and inspiring the team around you· Previous experience in a fast paced commercial or sales role preferable· An enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop within the role and contribute towards the greater success of the team and business
