If you feel this role is for you, then please apply.Location: Tolka Valley, Finglas, DublinReporting to: Family Support & Special Projects ManagerTerms: Specified Purpose Contract, 5-day week (Mon-Fri)Salary: €51,520-€66,673 per annum (Please note that offers are typically made at the beginning to mid-range of the advertised salary, based on skills and experience) Job Purpose:To lead and manage the provision of an Older Person’s Day Care Centre in Tolka Valley, Finglas, Dublin.Responsibilities:The day to day management and maintenance of the Day Care Facility for the benefit of the wider community.Identifying and pursuing initiatives that support the activities of the Centre.Developing a programme of activities for the Centre including social and developmental areas, the development and delivery of food services etc.Responsibility for managing the budget of the service and ensuring Value for Money in all transactions.Liaising with the HSE and other agencies as appropriate in the development of a Programme for the Service Users of the centre and the subsequent scheduling, maintenance and monitoring of such activities.Developing and maintaining liaison structures for the users of the service.The development of staff management and support systems, including:Staff recruitment, induction, training and development Day to day management and supervisionStaff AppraisalsReport writing and file maintenanceEnsuring that essential and required training is undertaken by all staffImplementation of disciplinary procedures as requiredAttendance at meetings and the generation of reports etc as required.Identifying and working with external agencies in further developing the service.Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.  Key Competencies & RequirementsStrong communication and consultation skillsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamLeadership capability Essential Qualifications and ExperienceThird Level qualification is desirable2+ years’ experience in a care of older person’s positionExperience in managing & leading a staff teamExperience of developing social initiativesSound knowledge of best practise in the care of older personsExcellent organisational and management skillsExcellent team building and leadership skillsGood communication and interpersonal skillsAptitude and empathy with older personsFlexibility in duties and hours Essential Skills and Behaviours Excellent communication skills both in written and spoken word.Exceptional organisational, time management, interpersonal and motivational skills.Strong IT Skills particularly in MS Excel and MS Word.Applications should be submitted on or before the closing date of Wednesday, 13th August 2025.
