Construction Director (Semiconductors & Data-Centres)

Our reputation is based on forming successful partnerships with our clients, providing them with innovative designs and cost effective solutions in the context of sound judgment, strong management and technical excellence. We provide Full Service Engineering for our clients including Project and Programme Management, Procurement, Design, Construction Management, Health & Safety Management, Commissioning, Qualification and Start-up on numerous projects across a range of market sectors. Our Main market sectors are; Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology, Medical Technologies, Advanced Technology, Science & Education, Food & Beverage and Energy.  This newly created role of Advanced Technology Construction Director will be a key role in delivering one of the key objectives of the 5 Year Plan. DPS plan to expand our construction management capability to execute projects in the Semiconductor and/or Data Centre sectors as part of our EPCMV offering or our standalone Construction Management offering.In this role you will develop and implement a strategy that will position DPS to secure and deliver large scale construction projects ensuring these projects are delivered in a safe manner for the protection of our employees, clients, subcontractors and vendors. You will work closely with the regional operations directors and managers of construction to set standards, support the development of project execution strategies, support the build of appropriate project teams and act as a peer reviewer on the projects to identify risks and mitigation strategiesSome specific responsibilities will includeDevelop a strategy & staff the construction organisation for DPS ATG Development of Infrastructure to support implementation of service on Clients facilitiesProvide strong safety leadership in setting standards for construction safety and oversee construction field safety in the field.Review and improve our construction safety procedures and guidelines.Develop construction execution strategies to deliver fast track projects (off site construction techniques etc)Develop and implement Lean construction techniques Support the creation of robust contracts and procurement strategy to enable project delivery.Ensure commercial and contract management process are in placeEnsure standard reporting processes are in place for key safety and construction KPI’sIdentification and implementation of Industry level BKM’sManage multiple simultaneous cross functional and project teamsImplementation of reporting structures and information systems to ensure accurate program reporting and risk mitigation Role model professional management skills; leadership, planning, influencing, negotiating, problem-solving, and load balancing. Motivate the team using appropriate tools and techniques in order to increase commitment to the program objectives. Establish alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to the program. Manage all communications both internally and externally. Proactively identify risks and issues and have appropriate mitigation/contingency/action plans created by the risk/issue owner. Provide recommendations to streamline or make existing processes more efficient.  Ability to measure the health of the project/s by using appropriate metrics   The ideal candidate will have the following experience :Undergraduate degree Engineering or Construction related discipline20+ years’ operating at a senior level with deep knowledge of Semiconductor/Data Center construction sector.Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and operational.Forward-thinking and conceptual, with the ability to execute on the multiple projects concurrentlyStrong leadership and communication skills - with ability to influence and challenge at all levels.Track record in setting high standards of safety managementTrack record in the delivery of €100m+ construction projects in the Semiconductor and Data science sectorIdentify key strategic issues and opportunitiesDevelop strong client relationshipsProvide market and external competitor intelligence
