We help people change their livesAbout the roleAs a Community Content and Engagement Specialist at Code Institute, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and nurturing our vibrant student and alumni community ecosystem. Your primary responsibility is twofold: developing compelling content and events across various channels, and, fostering meaningful interactions within our community.You'll lead the charge in content creation, developing strong video content, creating engaging posts, blogs, articles and more, as well as facilitating and hosting events, webinars and hackathons that resonate with our students and alumni. Leveraging your expertise in content optimization, you'll ensure our content is not only valuable to our students’ learning and career journey, but also highly discoverable, driving engagement and participation within our community. Moreover, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Learning Operations, Product, Careers, and Marketing, to align content and engagement strategies with organizational goals and initiatives, thus maximizing their impact.This will include collaboration to develop community-aligned content aimed at advocacy and acquisition initiatives. This may involve initiatives such as engaging with community members to curate compelling Alumni Success Stories, as well as coordinating, planning, promoting and hosting engaging content formats like webinars and event series to highlight student and alumni successes. You'll actively engage with internal teams to promote student and alumni participation in these initiatives, utilizing their stories to enhance our brand's impact and attract prospective students. Additionally, you'll contribute to the development of alumni-focused content as part of our Community alumni program and assist in optimizing acquisition efforts by contributing to our strategic approach and implementation of collecting positive alumni reviews.This role goes beyond content creation; it's about empowering our community members to become content creators themselves. You'll scale content creation by nurturing and facilitating superusers and top contributors, providing them with the tools, resources, and support they need to actively participate in events, contribute content, and engage with fellow members. By fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing, you'll elevate the overall community experience and contribute to the success of our students and alumni.Key Responsibilities & Tasks Develop compelling content and facilitate its creation across a variety of areas, and platforms, including videos, engagement posts, emails, articles, blogs and events such as webinars, AMA sessions and Hackathons, ensuring alignment with community objectives and values.Cultivate strong relationships with community members, encouraging their active participation and contribution to diverse content formats, and identify popular content ideas and formats, continuously refining strategies to maximize audience engagement and satisfaction, while monitoring performance metrics to optimize content effectiveness.Take ownership of the community editorial calendar, meticulously planning content and coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve linked KPIs and objectives, driving engagement and growth.Facilitate, plan and host events, including webinars, Hackathons, AMA sessions and more, both in-person and online, also working alongside the community team and with community volunteers to facilitate them in the scaled implementation of the community events programme..Edit, curate, and enhance content generated by community members, the community team, and other stakeholders, demonstrating proficiency in synthesizing and repurposing existing content.Optimize content for maximum reach and searchability, collaborating with marketing and product teams to curate content for dissemination across various platforms, enhancing brand visibility and community reach.Implement efficient automation campaigns and workflows, leveraging CRM, email, and content management systems to streamline processes and enhance community engagement experiences. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as the Marketing Team and other Learning Operations teams, to develop community-aligned content aimed at advocacy and acquisition initiatives such as Alumni Success StoriesPartner with the Community and Alumni Manager and other stakeholders to develop student communication content for risk analysis and plans, contributing to the enhancement of community policies and handbooks, as well as driving communication campaigns aimed at promoting positive community behavior change and inclusivity.Explore opportunities for collaboration with external partners, industry experts, and influencers to enrich content, expand community reach, and foster strategic alliances that contribute to the achievement of community objectives and organizational goals.Qualifications & ExperienceContent creation, communications or marketing background an advantage. Coding experience, such as a Fullstack Diploma is an advantageProven experience in content creation and management, preferably in a community-focused role.Experience in managing editorial calendars and optimizing content for improved engagement.Experience in building and nurturing relationships with community members, particularly in the context of content contribution and event participation.Experience in the management and facilitation of online events.Familiarity with automation tools and workflows for content distribution an advantage.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with community members.Ability to analyze data and metrics to measure content engagement and effectiveness.Proficiency in Slack or similar community engagement platforms.Video editing skills desirable.
