Do you have Python and JavaScript experience and love problem-solving? Code Institute is looking for a talented Cohort Facilitator at the junior developer level who enjoys learning, teaching, and helping others succeed. There's a growing skills shortage worldwide and filling this talent pipeline underpins our education ethos. That's where Code Institute's Full-Stack Development Program comes in. Our online students are dedicated, passionate and determined, and they can use your help to study more effectively, build their problem-solving skills, and land their first developer role. As a Cohort Facilitator, you will provide support and guidance to students and will be responsible for facilitating special cohorts to ensure forward momentum for students and success in completing their program. You will also be responsible for coordinating with Education and Training Boards (ETBs) and channels to ensure the administrative requirements of the program are met.Main duties and responsibilitiesFacilitate students to maintain a high level of student engagement and motivation.To report on the required student engagement to the Education and Training Board and to the Learning Operations Manager.To run regular stand-up sessions with students.Provide students with online support for advanced coding-related questions that weren’t resolved via community support through one-on-one and one-to-many sessions via text, video and screen sharing.Own technical issues in the systems that students use for their learning (e.g. LMS, Slack Code.it).Facilitate conversation and encourage students to help one another on slack.Contribute to webinars to promote the recruitment process.Where there is a requirement for a programme, contribute to the student hiring evaluation process.Based on insights from student questions and knowledge gaps, propose and implement improvements to the course code examples and other content.Based on insights gathered, propose, plan and implement opportunities to improve, simplify and automate processes related to student learning.RequirementsProficiency with the following coding technologies taught in our Full-Stack course: HTML, CSS, JS, Python and Django.Excellent communication skills.Optimistic and can-do approach, ability to create a positive group environment.Active listening and creative problem-solving skills.Previous experience in coaching, training, teaching or leading would be a great advantage.If this is you please let us know!What's in it for youHybrid and remote working opportunitiesFlexible working hoursFree access to our premium coursesStudy assistanceEmployee Assistance ProgramLife assuranceAdditional days off on ChristmasUpskilling and development opportunitiesCode Institute is an equal opportunities employer and prides itself on diversity and inclusivity across our staff and our student body alike.
