delivery of future cancer therapies.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Trial Coordination & Patient ManagementIndependently coordinate an assigned portfolio of oncology clinical trials, ensuring protocol compliance from study activation through participant follow-up.Perform clinical assessment of trial participants, applying specialist oncology nursing knowledge and escalating clinical concerns appropriately.Act as a key point of contact for Principal Investigators, Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), sponsors and multidisciplinary teams regarding study delivery and participant management.Provide high quality nursing expertise and care to clinical trial participantsTake a proactive role in the identification and enrolment of eligible trial participants in accordance with the clinical trial protocolDiscuss study participation with patients and their families ensuring the informed consent process is adhered toEducate patients and their families on treatment schedules, study procedures, potential risks and benefits in accordance with the clinical trial protocolOrganise patient treatment schedules and ensure all required investigations, procedures and assessments are performed in accordance with the protocol requirements during the screening, treatment and follow-up periodReview trial participants on the Oncology Day Ward on treatment visits ensuring all to central facilities in accordance with patient consent and the clinical trial protocolMaintain stock control of clinical trials suppliesLiaise with relevant Clinical Research Associate (CRA) with regard to eligibility, scheduling and protocol adherence queries ensuring all communication is saved both electronically and a hard copy in the site filesPartner with Principal investigators in the implementation and delivery of clinical trial protocolsMaintain compliance with ICH-GCP, research ethics, and institutional policiesData ManagementEnsure relevant information acquired and documented during the screening, treatment and follow-up visits to facilitate accurate data capture in the electronic case report form (eCRF)Ensure compliance with the Data Protection ActReport and discuss Serious Adverse Events with the PI/sub-I in accordance with the clinical trial protocol Education & TrainingAttend Investigator meetings, as requiredAttend Site Initiation Visits, as requiredParticipate in monitoring visits, audits and inspections, as requiredRead and be familiar with clinical trial protocols, agreement documents and patient education materials and have a clear understanding of the objectives and required proceduresRead and be familiar with Lab manuals in so far as they relate to blood and tissue collection/processingEducate and train Medical Oncology nursing staff within the service on the clinical trial protocol, objectives and required procedures as requiredParticipate in and support research dissemination activities Professional dissemination and quality improvement activities.RequirementsQualifications/Essential · Registered General Nurse with The Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligible to register with NMBIDesirable · Post graduate Medical Oncology/Haematology qualification · Postgraduate Clinical Trials or Research qualificationExperienceEssential · Minimum of 4 years post registration experience in the acute hospital setting within the last 5 years· Prior experience working on clinical trials (medicinal products and/or medical devices) or within a research setting· Competence in venipuncture and IV cannulation· Basic Life Support trainingDesirable· Prior experience working in Medical Oncology· Certificate of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP)· Familiarity with informed consent process· Familiarity with adverse event reporting and pharmacovigilance processes· Knowledge of sample management and chain of custody· Experience of collating and reporting complex dataJob Specific
