The Role: Responsibility for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and review of care for service users according to service standards and monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes.Take Clinical in charge role on a daily basis in conjunction with CNM colleagues.Contribute to the development and maintenance of nursing standards, protocols and guidelines consistent with the highest standards of patient care.Participate in teams as appropriate, communication and working in co-operation with other team members.Play a central role in maintaining a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.To provide support and assistance to the CNM III in the running of the assigned area(s).Assist in observing and ensuring implementation and adherence to established policies and procedures e.g. health and safety, Radiation Safety, infection control, storage and use of controlled drugs etc.Observe, Report and take appropriate action on any matter which may be detrimental to service user care or well being /may be inhibiting the efficient provision of careEngage in continuing professional development by keeping up to date with nursing literature, recent nursing research and new developments in nursing management, education and practice and to attend staff study days as considered appropriate.Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership and direction for the staff in the cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory and Non- Invasive cardiology Evaluation Department while supporting the goals of the department.Provide supervision and assist in the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes of staffEngage in performance review processes including personal development planning with CNM III/ADONExercise authority in the running of the assigned area(s) in conjunction with the CNMIII.Ensure compliance with legal requirements, policies and procedures affecting service users, staff and other hospital mattersMaintain good working relationships with other departments, patients and familiesEnsure professional and personal persona positively reflects the profession of nursing and Galway Clinic. The Candidate: Current registration with NMBIRelevant Post graduate degree preferred and management qualification also desirableMinimum of 5 years Cath Lab experience required or must hold a specialist courseHave proven Clinical, Leadership, Managerial & Customer Care skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present information in a clear and concise mannerPossess critical thinking and problem-solving abilities and have a sense of professional development,Ability to motivate staff.Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Flexibility in work practices.Strong planning organizing and time management skills.Demonstrate the ability to multi-task.Demonstrate the ability to delegate roles and responsibilities.Demonstrate a strong focus on Quality.
