Blackrock Clinic is a progressive and pioneering hospital in which care for the patient is central to everything we do. As a Clinical Specialist Radiographer in Nuclear Medicine the incumbent will be required to work as part of a team in the Nuclear Medicine department. This means:- Ensuring patient workflows are optimal for the Nuclear Medicine Department- Supervising and training less experienced/new staff members in the Nuclear Medicine department, maintaining training records. - Performing and leading clinical audits to identify areas for improvement The role is responsible for Quality Assurance within the Department along with compliance to the Radiology Department Guidelines and Department Protocols. For ongoing patient work the position works to:- Prepare patients for Nuclear Medicine procedures, taking the physical and psychological needs of the patients into account, maintaining high standards of patient care- Ensuring Nuclear Medicine safety protocols and procedures are always adhered to- Obtaining intravenous access and administration of Radionuclide required for procedures, and participating in the dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals The above are all part of what makes up the entire job description which can be requested.
