Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist - Adult Disability Permanent Contract – 35 hours per weekLocation: Kilcullen, Co. KildareClinical Specialist OT Scale: €71,405 to €82,860 The Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist will provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and strategic direction in the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to adults with complex disabilities. The role focuses on enhancing independence, promoting meaningful occupation, and supporting community integration for individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities:Manage a highly complex caseload, conducting advanced functional, cognitive, sensory, and environmental assessmentsAct as an advanced clinical advisor to OTs and other members of the MDTAct as the clinical expert resource for occupational therapy within the servicePromote changes in work practices, procedures, techniques or technology having regard to the development of best practice and advanced practice in Occupational Therapy.Participate in and lead service audits, evaluation, and outcome measurement initiativesDevelop clinical pathways and protocols specific to adult disability OT servicesLead and participate in Occupational Therapy Department in-service trainings and team meetings.Develop and promote quality standards of work and cooperate with quality assurance programmes. Essential Requirements:Qualification in Occupational Therapy recognised by CORURegistration with CORU as an Occupational TherapistMinimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, including significant experience in adult disability servicesDemonstrated experience managing complex clinical casesEvidence of continuing professional development and advanced clinical trainingBe eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorshipFull Clean Licence and access to own vehicle is essentialDesirable Requirements Experience in service development, audit, and quality improvementPostgraduate training relevant to adult disability (e.g., sensory integration, assistive technology, postural management)Leadership or supervisory experience Benefits include:Generous annual leavePaid Maternity/Paternity Leave (subject to service)Federation of Voluntary Bodies Pension Scheme: Employer 7% & Employee 5% contributionsOptional Salary Protection PlanRewarding work with flexible hoursEmployee Assistance Programme ESDA.ie and local Employee DiscountsPersonal Development, Professional Growth and Career ProgressionClosing date for applications is 28th June 2026.A detailed Job Description is available on request.
