Clinical Skills Facilitator/Clinical Nurse Manager 2Oncology/HaematologyPermanent Contract, Full Time Hours. The Clinical Skills Facilitator/CNM2 operationally reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager 3 Oncology/ Haematology and Assistant Director of Nursing, Divisional Lead. Professionally accountable to the Director of Nursing. Responsibilities:Implement the strategic vision and direction for nursing, and support nursing staff in the Oncology Haematology Department within Mercy University Hospital.Provide clinical leadership for nursing which results in the delivery of effective, efficient, quality assured and patient centred nursing care.Ensure appropriate liaison and communication within the department of nursing and with members of the multidisciplinary team as necessary.Be responsible for the co-ordination of education and professional development of registered nurses in Oncology and Haematology Ward and maintain records in accordance with local service and professional standards.Support Oncology/Haematology Clinical Nurse Managers, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Registered Nurses with competency development.Attend relevant meetings as required for role and for liaison with appropriate staff.Attend staff meetings as required and receive staff suggestions for improvements.Develop good working relationships with wards and departments to promote quality, timely patient centred care.Ensure the clinical environment is conducive to supporting the learning and education of all staff.Engage in continuing professional development by keeping up to date with nursing literature, recent nursing research and new developments in nursing management, education and practice and to attend staff study days as considered appropriate.Participate in the identification, development and delivery of induction, education, training and development programmes for nursing staff.Be closely involved in the continuing education of registered nurses new to Oncology/Haematology Department in Mercy University Hospital.The extent to which there is patient satisfaction with nursing care.The extent to which good working relationships are fostered and maintained throughout the nursing service and between nursing and other disciplines.The effectiveness of performance in relation to Human Resource management and development.Eligibility Criteria - Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:Are registered in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives, as appropriate, maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI / Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).Have 5 years post registration nursing experience and 2 years nursing management experience at a minimum of CNM2 in an Oncology Haematology acute setting, 3 years is desirable.Possess a post graduate qualification in Oncology or Haematology Nursing.Candidates must possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the office.Be proficient in Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment administration.  Closing date for applications is 1pm on Tuesday, 1st July 2025.MUH reserve the right to create a panel for this post from which permanent, fixed term and specified purpose vacancies of a full or part time duration may be filled.Mercy University Hospital (MUH):MUH is a growing voluntary hospital in the heart of Cork City.
