Clinical Nurse Manager II(Nurse Practice Development Unit NPDU)Temporary Contract, Part time (.5 WTE)  The Nurse Practice Development Unit at Mercy University Hospital is dynamic, diverse and has a systematic approach to the delivery of patient centered care. The CNM2 Training and Development has a key role in the delivery of education and training in partnership with Clinical Facilitators, ward managers and the wider nursing team. The CNM2 Training and Development works with the nursing team through teaching, collaboration and inclusion in an environment where ongoing education and development is an essential component to the delivery of patient centered care.  Have exceptional professional and clinical leadership qualities which includes promotion of the Mercy Values in a culture of diversity and respect.Adhere to and contribute to the development and maintenance of standards, protocol, care bundles and guidelines which are evidence based and enable nursing staff deliver safe effective patient centered care.Lead on the development of competency-based training programmes which respond to key performance indicators, quality metrics and comply with local and national guidelines.Respond to clinical incidents and support staff with access to relevant programmes of training to enable competence in the workplace.Demonstrates an understanding of learning in the cultural context and supports staff transitioning to practice for the first time, overseas trained nurses and other nurses transitioning to a new healthcare environment.Ensure that delivery patient centred care aligns to professional roles as identified by the nursing and Midwifery board of Ireland (NMBI) and is safe, ethically delivered, and effective.Keep up to date with current research, ensure evidence-based practice and research is utilized and must contribute to nursing research that is relevant to patient careEligibility Criteria: Be a registered nurse on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be eligible to be so registeredAndBe registered in the General Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives in which the application is being madeAndHave a minimum of 5 years post registration full time experience in an acute hospital setting of which 2 years must be in the speciality or related area.AndDemonstrate evidence of continuing professional development Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice.   Closing date for applications is 1pm Monday 5th August 2024The MUH reserve the right to create a panel for this post from which permanent, fixed term and specified purpose vacancies of a full or part time duration may be filled.
