Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Coronary Care (CCU)(Permanent, Full Time)The post-holder reports to the CNM2 Critical Care and the Assistant Director of Nursing, who is accountable to the Director of Nursing, Mercy University Hospital.The post of CNM1 CCU is central to the co-ordination and management of activity and resources within the 4 - bedded Coronary Care Unit, having expert knowledge and a wide experience base, the post holder will provide clinical leadership through the development of services in the unit and expansion of the nursing team.Purpose of the post:To be responsible for the management, care, and treatment of service users, to ensure that the optimum standard of care is provided within the designated area(s) of responsibility.Responsibilities:Clinical and professional leadership and development in the nursing team, including the development of nursing staff by means of in-service training, orientation of new staff and arranging for clinical experience and supervision of student nurses where this is appropriate.Act as deputy to the CNM2Assist in managing, planning and co-ordinating activity and resources on the CCU.Assist in the coordination of the expansion of telemetry monitoring in the CCU.Provide specialist knowledge, expertise, and care for critically ill patients using their specialist clinical knowledge and clinical skills.Assess, evaluate, and review the requirements of individual patient needs to ensure the highest quality of care.Assist in the evaluation of nursing services to maintain the optimum clinical environment, and an effective clinical learning environment.Develop their clinical leadership skills to create an environment for effective team working.Promotion of multi-disciplinary teamwork. Eligibility Criteria:Candidates must:Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland {NMBI}(Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais ns hEireann).Have at least 3 years post registration experience of which 1 years must be in acute coronary/cardiovascular care.Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development, willingness to undertake education to support role.Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, and clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.Post graduate specialist qualification in coronary care nursing (desirable). Closing date: Friday 9th August 2024The MUH reserve the right to create a panel for this post from which permanent, fixed term and specified purpose vacancies of a full or part time duration may be filled.
