Civil Engineering Technician

FLI Precast Solutions are recruiting for a Civil Engineering Technician to join our busy and growing Production team at our manufacturing facility in Kilnock, Ballon, Co. Carlow. This role will report to the Production Manager and is a full-time, permanent position. Roles and Responsibilities:Review issued production drawings to determine reinforcement requirements for each precast unit.Liaise with suppliers regarding capacity, cost and lead time on materials.Agree optimum approach regarding insourcing/outsourcing with Production Manager.Place, track and manage orders placed with external suppliers.Record inventory of rebar received.Co-ordinate team of rebar sorting operatives to meet production requirements.Carryout monthly reinforcement stock takes.Support the Production Manager and Production Supervisors in the manufacture of precast units as per project schedule and department targets.Manage procurement and monitoring of steel and synthetic fibres.Follow all health and safety rules and regulations on site.Any other duties as may be assigned by the Production Manager or their designees. The Ideal Candidate:Civil Engineering qualification.Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role.Ability to read reinforcement drawings and schedules.Practical understanding of RC concrete construction.Ability to direct a small team.Team player with the ability to work on own initiative also.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken.Strong computer skill (MS Word, Excel, PDF Editor, AutoCAD DWG Viewer). Compensation and Benefits:Competitive salary.23 days annual leave.Day shift hours with fixed place of work.Company pension plan with matched employer contributions.Death in service benefit.Educational Assistance Programme. About FLI:FLI Precast Solutions design and manufacture precast concrete elements for a variety of applications in the Data, Energy, Water and Aviation Industries in Ireland, UK and Europe.
