Booth Welsh are looking for an obsolescence engineer support resource for the Equipment Reliability team at Heysham Power Station.Predominantly on-site role. This is likely to be at least 4 days a week with preference for full 5 days at station, however there could be flexibility in this, particularly if the individual already had experience in station and obsolescence processes. This role would most suit a C&I engineer with experience in managing obsolescence projects, or someone with safety case experience. As station nears end of life, many components are obsolete. There is a defined fleet process for identifying and prioritising obsolescence issues at the station, but support is required to enact this process on station. This involves identification of obsolete components, and justification of suitable replacementsWorking with System Engineers and by gathering data from AMS, identifying potential obsolescence issuesManaging Preventative Obsolescence Management System (POMS) databaseIdentifying suitable replacement components and justifying their use within the Modification ProcessItem Equivalency Evaluation, Engineering Change etcPrioritising the obsolescence issues through analysis of riskMaking the work of the obsolescence programme visible through station communicationsSupport to the station obsolescence working groupManagement of obsolescence metricsLiaising with the Fleet on the subject of obsolescence
