For full job description please visit: https://www.seai.ie/careers/national-retrofit/THE ROLE PROFILEThe successful candidate will report to Retrofit Reporting and Data Management Programme Manager. This position will play a key role in this programme and will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI’s retrofit programmes, driving vital national retrofit delivery and emission reduction targets.Key Responsibilities of the role of Business Reporting Specialist - Retrofit Reporting The responsibilities of the Business Reporting Specialist - Retrofit Reporting outlined in this job description are indicative of the currently envisaged scope and may be added to or altered as required, in line with the requirement of SEAI across Business Units/Department. They will include, but not limited to, the following:Supporting the delivery of the key objectives of the Retrofit Data Management and Reporting programme. Providing project management, technical and operational support to the programme manager.Initiating and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Leading on the maintenance and development of data services with SEAI’s IT department and internal retrofit teams.Supporting the maintenance and development of innovative data reporting solutions, including the development of a new cloud-based enterprise reporting platform.Representing SEAI at meetings and events (including presentations and speaking engagements).Inputting to the ongoing development of the programme strategy and work programme.Supporting programme efficiency and effectiveness through contributing to the development and continual improvement of new and existing processesAny other duties that may be assigned by the Programme Manager or Head of Department.To ensure that activity peaks within the Department are addressed in a proactive manner, it is expected that the candidate appointed to this role will need to be flexible in terms of working hours during these periods.Key Knowledge and SkillsThe knowledge and skills required include but are not limited to the following: Strong technical ability in terms of information management with an understanding of the need for accuracy and rigour in data collection and managementAbility to identify and record changes required to increase efficiencies in data managementStrong project management skillsStrong proactive approach to setting and achieving results, including managing scope, time, risks, cost, and quality.Ability to work effectively and flexibly within a small team responding to needs as they ariseAnalysis and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and ability to think strategically and use sound judgement on complex issuesStrong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presenting, public speaking, and the ability to communicate technical information (written and oral) to non-technical audiences.Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to foster positive working relationships and work collaboratively with internal colleagues (multi-disciplinary), third party experts and external stakeholders.The ability to work on own initiative and display sound judgementWell-developed IT skills, including Office 365, with knowledge and experience in any of the following an advantage: database design and/or SQL, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Azure Synapse, Python and/or REssential RequirementsThe successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:Degree level or equivalent professional qualification in a technical discipline such as engineering, information technology, science, or an equivalent that demonstrates a high level of numeracy and/or data analysis or data management.A minimum of two years’ experience working in a role with significant elements of data analysis and reporting - relevant post graduate experience can be counted toward this experience.Well-developed Project Management and Organisation Skills.Excellent team-player skills, with experience of managing projects involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Ability to work proactively on own initiative, overcoming issues to achieve objectivesAbility to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.Desirable RequirementsKnowledge and experience of any of the following: MS Power BI, MS Azure Synapse, database design and SQL, Python or RKnowledge and experience in data analysis, and a knowledge of data analytics tools and techniquesExperience of working in energy-related environment across the public sector, academia or industry.A good understanding of the energy sector, or energy efficiency, or renewable energy, or sustainability, or building construction and retrofit.Eligibility to Work: The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland.
