Job TitleBusiness Decarbonisation Supports - Programme ExecutiveSalary€52,026 pa (Other arrangements may apply of you are currently a serving civil or public service)Tenure5-year fixed term contractWork LocationDublin, Dundalk, Cork or SligoClosing DateMidnight, Friday 7th November 2025Role ProfileWe have an exciting opportunity in the Business Programme (SME) within the Business Support Department.  Within SEAI, the Business Support Department develops, administers, and manages a number of focussed energy programmes, designed to support a range of small to large businesses to implement energy efficiency and renewable approaches to deliver on the Climate Action Plan targets. This position will play a key role in the Business Support Department.  The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI’s supports to small and large commercial energy users. These supports include the Energy Academy, the Support Scheme for Energy Audits, the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat, the Non-Domestic Microgeneration Grant, the Large Industry Energy Network, the Excellence in Energy Efficient Design (EXEED) programme, and the Business Energy Upgrades Scheme. The Business Programme (SME)The Business Programme, which is a key capability building programme for small and medium business through SME targeted support such as the Energy Academy and Support Scheme for Energy Audits and building strategic partnership with SME agencies. More information on SEAI SME Supports is available on the SEAI website here.Essential RequirementsThe successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:An honours degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 8 or greater) or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Science, Business or Social Science and a minimum of three years’ work directly relevant experience in energy or business-related roles (postgraduate studies may be included). OrAn ordinary degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 7 or greater) or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Science, Business or Social Science and a minimum of five years’ work directly relevant experience in energy or business-related roles (postgraduate studies may be included). OrA third level certificate (a minimum NFQ Level 6 or greater) or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Science, Business or Social Science and a minimum of eight years’ work directly relevant experience in energy or business-related roles (postgraduate studies may be included).Experience working in sustainable energy and/or with the SME or Industry sector.Strong project management and organisation skills and knowledge of business process development.Excellent interpersonal skills with experience building and maintaining effective working relationships internal and external stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication skills (including report writing, presenting and public speaking) with an ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.Well-developed IT skills including proficiency with MS Excel or equivalent.Desirable RequirementsCommercially focused, with a good understanding of the challenges facing Irish businesses.Experience delivering training and educational supports to varied audiences.Experience analysing, reporting and communicating insights from data.Experience in working in building energy retrofit activities, industry energy efficiency, or business sustainability.Experience in delivering high volume grant programmes, or other high volume client facing services.Experience with energy / environmental / quality management systems.Experience or knowledge of delivering positive customer experiences.Eligibility to WorkThe SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland.
