The post holder will be responsible to the Head of Department. Qualifications/Experience:Candidates must possessBSc in Pharmacy essentialPre-registration hospital experience desirable Key Responsibilities:The supervision and supply of drugs; pharmaceuticals and other related items as may be required by the wards and patients of this hospital to ensure that the needs of the patients and professional staff are met by the pharmaceutical serviceTo ensure that the purchase; storage and supply of all items are operated on the most economical lines, consistent with quality at pharmacy and ward/departmental level.To work closely with the technicians in the provision of their dutiesMaintenance of records for purchasing, quality control, compounding and dispensing to required standardsTo co-operate with the HOD and to assist in the performance of his/her dutiesThe provision of advice, as required, to medical and nursing staff on the proper and economic use of drugs and medication.Complying with all necessary procedures for security of the pharmacyThe provision of information to patientsLiaise closely and co-ordinate service delivery with the other Service Managers to ensure a high level of teamwork between pharmacists and pharmaceutical technicians.Participate in continuing education and activities consistent with the post and clinical area.Maintain throughout the hospital an awareness of the primacy of the patient in relation to all hospital activitiesDemonstrate behaviour consistent with the values of the hospitalParticipate in the pharmaceutical service as part of a punctual, dedicated and professional teamCreate, promote and maintain open communications and healthy working relationshipsMaintain the principles of equity, accountability and quality in daily work. Why work at the Blackrock Clinic:At the Blackrock Clinic, we are passionate about our people and believe in their development and growth.
