Banqueting Assistant Manager

At the Royal Marine Hotel, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Conference & Banqueting Manager to support the planning and execution of events and contribute to the continued success of our Conference & Banqueting operations.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Conference & Banqueting Manager in the day-to-day operation of the departmentOversee the setup, service delivery and breakdown of conference rooms and event spaces in line with hotel standards and client requirementsSupervise and lead the Conference & Banqueting team during events, ensuring efficient and professional service at all timesAct as a point of contact for clients during events, responding to requests promptly and ensuring expectations are metEnsure all function sheets and event details are accurately followed and communicated across departmentsLiaise closely with the Events Office, Kitchen, Bar and other hotel departments to ensure smooth event deliveryMonitor service standards and address any issues in a timely and professional mannerMaintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation across all event areasEnsure compliance with all health & safety, food safety and company policies and proceduresSupport recruitment, training and development of team members within the departmentAssist with staff scheduling and resource planning based on business needsHandle any guest feedback or complaints in a calm and professional manner, escalating where necessaryRequirementsPrevious experience in a Conference & Banqueting supervisory or assistant management role within a hotel or similar environmentStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a teamExcellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneouslyStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of spoken and written EnglishA professional, calm and solution-focused approach to problem-solvingHigh attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality serviceGood knowledge of health & safety and food safety standardsAbility to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, late nights and weekendsPhysical ability to assist with event setup when requiredEmployee BenefitsStaff discounts on accommodation in sister propertiesComplimentary Health Club and pool membershipDiscounted spa treatments and productsComplimentary golf in Druids HeathBike to Work SchemeFree parkingMeals on duty and healthy snacksEmployee recognition programmes (Employee of the Month, Quarter, and Year)Employee referral bonus
