Job DescriptionAt The Daffodil, we have always believed in doing things differently.We like the idea that guests can enjoy our luxurious four-star hotel, yet feel completely relaxed and right at home.City-chic contemporary style from the world’s top hotels has inspired us to offer a unique experience here in Grasmere, one of the Lake District’s smallest villages.We hope you’d like to join us…The RoleTo be responsible for supporting the Reception Manager to run reception department in line with company policy and to provide a high standard of customer care at all timesThe Day-to-DayTo support the Reception Manager in leading the Reception Team in establishing, maintaining, reviewing and improving consistent high standards of products and services to our customers.  To have full knowledge and promote the hotel’s bedrooms, facilities, services and company products. Provide a reception service to guests for enquiries, reservations, arrivals, departures and cancellations.Ensure that invoicing procedures and revenue posting for hotel services are correctly implemented in Reception and all monies are accounted for. Ensure that all floats are correct at all times and deal with any discrepancies immediately. Work alongside the Nights Team ensuring handovers are completed efficiently.To have full knowledge of the Opera, Switchboard, PDQ system, filing systems and all other equipment based in reception. To control any Maintenance up dates of Opera.To be responsible for the upkeep of the front and back office, and to ensure stationery and supplies are monitored and controlled at all times.To work alongside the Housekeeping Management team to ensure the daily operations of our guest rooms are completed efficiently. To ensure any deliveries are checked and passed on to the relevant departments as soon as possible.To provide cover for the Reception Manager with managerial duties in their absence. To cover Duty Management shifts and conduct Daily Meetings in order to communicate with other departments. Communicate with other Department Managers and departmental employees on an ongoing basis through attending the weekly Department Manger meetings and holding regular meetings with the Reception team. Work in partnership with all departments, especially Housekeeping. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues. Promote teamwork and oversee other departments as required. Regularly liaise with the Revenue and Events team regarding rates, internet, revenue management and promotional activity. Liaise with the maintenance team to ensure that the highest possible standards are met in bedrooms and reception areas.Ensure the Reception Department works in a safe manner, conforming to statutory and company Health and Safety, Liquor Licensing and Food Hygiene Regulations. Comply with other statutory regulations e.g. Data Protection.About YouWe are looking for an Individual with passion for customer service with strong interpersonal skills to influence and persuade others, while remaining constructive,welcoming, friendly and professional.The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills to support the demands of the business with structure and planning.We are looking for someone with a good working knowledge of front of house or who can demonstrate strong transferable skills.If you are really interested in this position and working at The Daffodil Hotel and Spa, we would like to receive a cover letter from you as well as your CV.Joining Our TeamWe value energy, enthusiasm, commitment and a shared passion to always put the guest experience at the center of what we do.In return, we offer several benefits:Competitive rates of payTraining & development / Funding for QualificationsEmployee of the month schemeAdditional leave day for your BirthdayReduced rates and discounts at our hotelsTransport between Kendal, Bowness, Windermere and AmblesideComplimentary meals, tea and coffee, on dutyHigh standard Employee AccommodationGratuities shared between our teamsClosing Date: Friday 21st August 2020
