Assistant Building Surveyor - ManchesterBaily Garner are expanding! We are opening a new office in Manchester and have an exciting opportunity for a driven Assistant Building Surveyor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have relevant Building Surveying experience and enrolled onto APC (Assessment of Professional Competence). You will join an established multi-disciplinary consultancy and be given the responsibility to gain practical experience on projects working with all disciplines in our consultancy. You will gain invaluable experience in the delivery of projects including condition survey programmes, new build and refurbishments, single element replacements and repairs, and extensions under the guidance of our chartered surveyors. These projects will provide a range of experience in different sectors including residential, education, blue light, health care and leisure. Projects you will be working on:• Refurbishment projects in the education, housing and care sector• Survey programmes for local authorities and education establishmentsResponsibilities Include:• Inspections and condition surveys in line with DfE guidance• Defect Diagnosis• Report writing• Specification writing• Contract AdministrationIdeally you will have:·      RICS accredited Building Surveying degree·      Relevant industry experience·      Proficient in condition surveys ·      Experience in undertaking stock condition surveys·      Good technical knowledge of construction technology and building pathology  ·      Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle ·      Experience using MS Project and Techforge would be advantageous• Registered for APC as part of progression with a drive to achieving MRICSSkills required:• An organised approach to work• Flexible attitude to work• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written• Attention to detail• Ability to establish good working relationships.Baily Garner is a modern multi-disciplinary consultancy, with collaborative innovation at the heart of what we do.
