The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, innovative and committed to providing a quality service that responds to the needs and priorities of our service users. The Cluain Mhuire MHID service is a specialist mental health service for adults with moderate to profound intellectual disability, where there is a concern about a moderate to severe mental disorder, for example a depressive illness, psychosis, a moderate to severe anxiety disorder that has not responded to intervention provided by primary care or disability services. This is a community-based team providing a catchment service to adults living in the Dublin area of HSE Dublin and South East, Community Healthcare Networks 1-6 inclusive (catchment population approximately 300,000). This post is part of the National Service Improvement Programme for MHID and is a new development service in HSE Dublin and South East.Minimum RequirementsApplications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above and the successful candidates must: • Have a recognized university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland obtained with 1st class honours or 2nd class honours grade 1, in which Psychology was taken as a major subject. • Have a recognized post-graduate professional qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in clinical or counselling psychology. • For those who obtained their training and qualifications abroad, the equivalence with the above training and qualifications must be validated by the Department of Health. • Have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which were spent in gaining the post-graduate professional qualification. Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years’ experience requirement. • Have post-qualification experience of working in either a CAMHs service or AMHs service or Intellectual Disability service for 1 year carrying out assessments and conducting psychological therapy. • Have knowledge and understanding of the complex needs of this client group. • Understand mental health as it relates to intellectual disability. • Be familiar with comorbid conditions such as neurodevelopmental disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation difficulties and drug and alcohol abuse. • Have experience of group work. • Have experience of working within an MDT. • Have knowledge and experience in counselling and advocacy as it relates to the role. • Have knowledge of the services provided by Cluain Mhuire Service.RemunerationSalary Grade 367Y Psychologist, Senior Clinical on the Consolidated HSE Pay Scale€100,483 - €118,111 per annum pro rataInitial locationThe initial location of this role is Elvira Gate, Burton Hall Campus, Sandyford, Dublin 18, however, you may be required, from time to time, to work at SJOG CS’s other places of business or/and the premises of such associated s companies or organisations as SJOG CS may require.
