Operations Manager

Roles and Responsibilities:Industry ExperienceProven senior operational leadership experience within the construction industry, engineering, M&E, energy, utilities or industrial projects.Strong understanding of the Scottish market and off-site manufacturing experience delivering projects across Scotland.Demonstrable delivery experience working within the energy sector, including renewables, power, utilities or related infrastructure projects.Technical and delivery experience of the target sectors.Experience managing geographically dispersed project portfolios. LeadershipA recognised leader of Building services and Construction teams with a track record of developing, retaining and nurturing high-performing teams.Able to create accountability, drive performance and foster a positive culture.Experienced in leading site and office based Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams and Planning functions.Commercial AcumenStrong commercial awareness with responsibility for project profitability, risk management and contract performance.Experience overseeing budgets, forecasting, cost control and client relationship management.Able to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.Planning & Delivery FocusStrong planning and programme building services management capability.Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and resources.Focused on delivering projects safely, on time, to budget and to the required quality standards.Good understanding of BIM and documentation management systems, such as ACC. Personal AttributesStrategic thinker with a hands-on operational approach.Excellent communicator and stakeholder manager.Results-driven, collaborative and highly organised.Willing and able to travel regularly throughout Scotland, particularly to Peterhead, Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow.Understands the logistical challenges of working across the region. Responsibilities include but not limited to:Lead operational delivery across the Scottish project portfolio.Ensure projects achieve safety, quality, programme and financial targets.Work closely with Commercial, Planning and Project Delivery teams.Develop client relationships and support business growth opportunities.Drive continuous improvement across operations, planning and project controls.Provide leadership, mentoring and succession planning for operational teams.Deliver the current portfolio of work secured in the Energy Sector.Candidate Profile:A senior operational leader with significant electrical installation experience in Scotland's construction, engineering or energy sectors who combines strong people leadership with commercial awareness, strong site based experience and programme planning expertise. The successful candidate will be comfortable travelling across Scotland and managing a diverse portfolio of projects from the Central Belt through to the Highlands and Northeast.
