Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Shay Murtagh Precast have an immediate requirement for Qualified and Junior mechanics to join our team with state-of-the-art facilities, based in Raharney, County Westmeath. Candidates will have the opportunity to work on large scale plant and machinery like 70 - 135t crawler crane and 3-30t forklifts amongst many other heavy construction vehicles. We also boast our own transport fleet with over 200 various transport plant like trailers to tractor units. We encourage all skill levels to contact us to discuss these opportunities.Responsibilities: Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, replacing filters.•Maintains vehicle functionality, conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunction; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage and diagnostics.•Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs while also maintaining vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting if required•Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance.•Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facility equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.•Maintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion; keep work area clean at all times•Organise & define tasks with minimal supervision while completing routine paperwork/data entry as may be required.•To participate fully on any Lean Development Projects or Continuous improvement initiatives, and embrace new methods of workingThe successful candidate will possess: · Have attained or working towards a HGV qualification· Own transport· Excellent level of English language required
